Leaping Lizard

Upon my reach a lizard I found,

Beneath a log along the ground.

He was green and had some spots,

His sudden leaping surprised me lots!

For as I went to grab this guy,

Up he leapt, so very high!

Out of my reach, onto a tree,

Away he went, so far from me!

Maybe I frightened him away,

But I know he’ll return some day!
